This project was completed with Photoshop and Illustrator for ART 346, basic graphic design. The objective was to develop a 56-page book featuring 26 simple letter/image relationships, presented in alphabetical order. This project explores the visual connections between type and images while considering how form, function, and meaning intersect. We were given a week to take the photos for the project and the editing/framing process took a week and two days to construct the physical book.

This project was not something that I was expecting to do and it pushed me to use my creative eye and expand my graphic design skills. Through the use of Photoshop and Illustrator, I was able to fine-tune the visual components of each letter/image relationship, enhancing their impact and ensuring a cohesive design throughout the book. I created 3 iterations of this book before I was satisfied with the product. This project challenged me to think critically about the harmonious integration of type and images, pushing the boundaries of my creativity while developing a deeper understanding of how design elements influence one another. Overall, it was a rewarding experience that highlighted the importance of attention to detail and the ability to bring together form, function, and meaning in a visually compelling way.
